"Lana Jordan
smiles a lot! You can feel it in her communications, you can
hear it in her voice,
and you can see it in her work.
Lana truly loves what she does, and it shows!" —

"Lana Jordan does a wonderful job of entertaining and educating
at the same time."

Lana
Jordan has loved writing ever since she was old enough to pick
up a pencil. When she was in elementary school, she had a language
arts teacher who gave the class a weekly writing assignment
and awarded a lemon drop to the student who wrote the best
story. Lana got lots of lemon drops.
She
went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in
journalism from Texas Tech University. Lana has been writing,
editing, and publishing ever since. She helps other writers
get published through Jorlan
Publishing.
From the Author:
I started reading to my children as babies.
But by about age four, they just weren't interested in the typical
picture book anymore. And after all the pomp and ceremony involved in
getting ready to read together, we didn't want to pack it all up again
in five minutes or less. We wanted to stay awhile. We wanted longer
bedtime stories. I wrote The Sleepytime Ponies Trick a Trickster
with that in mind.
I recently heard a representative from a
national bookstore chain make the comment that children ages five and
older are the toughest book customers. She said they love books until
about the time they start school, and then they lose interest. Well,
that doesn't surprise me very much. What books are they supposed to
enjoy when they're too old for traditional picture books and too young
for chapter books?
The Sleepytime Ponies Trick a Trickster
is intended to help bridge that gap. It's for families like ours who
enjoy reading together and want to spend more than 2 or 3 minutes on a
bedtime story. It's both entertaining and educational. And it appeals to
both children and adults. That's important. This story is meant to be
read aloud and enjoyed together because I strongly believe in the magic
of parents reading to their children and because I want the parents to
have fun, too. When it comes right down to it, we would love to
fly out the window with the Sleepytime Ponies just as much as our
children...maybe even more!
